I often relate to my students that learning Tai Chi Chuan is a journey. A journey of learning and discovery that if you wish can be continued for a lifetime. My Tai Chi journey started over 22 years ago, it has been life changing and continues to challenge my mind. It brings energy and harmony to my body providing inner calm and peace which in turn enables me to share my love of Tai Chi.
Students come to my classes for many reasons – to learn a new skill, to relax or to simply make space in their lives to do something just for themselves. During the class it is quite possible to focus completely on the stillness and tranquillity of the Tai Chi and Qigong movements which helps to clear your mind and therefore not think about anything else.
Throughout their learning many students tell me that they feel the benefits of the exercises that Tai chi and Qigong bring such as improved wellbeing, flexibility and better sleep.
As a student there will be times during your practice when you will experience a stop as you feel that a move is proving just a little tricky to learn but then the movement becomes clearer, and your journey starts again. I believe in the importance that all students learn Tai Chi at their own pace and that their progress is never rushed.
My main aim is to promote relaxation and gently challenge the mind through teaching in informal and friendly classes with lots of laughter too.
